136: Home Sweet Home

Ironically my husband doesn't remember spending two hours cleaning the kitchen that night...

Anyway my husband and I have started watching the series Atypical on Netflix. We're about halfway through. It's like someone watched The Bing Bang Theory and thought to him/herself "Wow, Sheldon is a terrible depiction of someone on the spectrum. I could do way better" and set out to make a show about a sympathetic autistic guy and did. It's particularly interesting to watch, because a lot of what's supposed to make him come off as awkward and off, has me sitting there saying "Wow, he's so interesting. I'd totally be friends with him." which probably explains why most of my closest friends and spouse are neurologically atypical...personalities I'm attracted to aside, it is a fascinating show. They do a great job of getting in the protagonists' head and explaining his thought processes as well as making most of the people in his life sympathetic as well. I wouldn't say the show has a lot of drama per se, but it's totally engrossing and I'm excited that they're making a second season.
