I never understood that thing about telling kids to keep their hands to themselves, I mean, who doesn't like physical contact and horsing around, right? Now that my son is three, I get it. I can't tell you how many times a day I have to tell him to stop touching his sister's face or, frankly, my face. I love cuddles, caresses and kids flopping on me, but being pushed, having my glasses whacked off my face, my hair pulled and my face poked at is not enjoyable. I'm sure it's worse for my poor daughter, who can't fend him off and doesn't understand how his behavior might have to do with her hair pulling and poking at him. I assume, like everything, it is a phase that will pass, but, wow, is it hard to deal with in the moment.
