889: Second Chance

There is nothing to do on Sundays in my area. If you aren't a church goer or your sabbath is on Saturday it can be really frustrating when you have a stimulation dependent youngster, so I started a story time at the local volunteer run library. We meet on Sunday mornings, 10:30 AM, and I bill it as a transitional story time for toddlers who don't want baby lap sit, but aren't going to sit through long picture books. I put up posters at all the local libraries, I hung a sign outside the one I'm doing it at, I posted it to Macaroni Kids and Hulafrog. The first week there were three families, all my friends, this week we filled the whole moderately sized parking lot and I only had one person who came because I'd mentioned it. It's amazing how fast these things can fill up! My goal is to make it ultra interactive, letting the kids pick from my pile of books and letting them choose the animals for every verse of Old McDonald, etc.
