Two of my best mom pals and I spend so much time with the others' toddlers that I think they've come to think of us a back up mommy's. I ran into one of them at the library. Her mom wanted to leave and she immediately jumped into my lap like, "It's OK, I'll stay here with Back Up Mommy." Another of the group spent part of a long summer vacation car ride chanting my name. Certainly my son seems as comfortable with them as he does with me. It takes a village and a confident child may be one who thinks he has some extra mommies waiting in the wings!
