My son had his second birthday on Friday. It was totally different in character from the first, being for children 2 and other. We had 6 toddlers and two 8 month olds. Monday was kosher cake, today was cream pie sans crust, nut free and with the eggs cooked in the pumpkin pie for almost an hour to deal with the three serious allergies in the group. I topped it all with thick, homemade whipped cream from the local dairy. Many toys went untouched. They barely even left the living room. The ratio of mom to kid was 1:1 as opposed to Monday's 1:2 or 1:3. Everyone ate their pie slowly and deliberately. Then pretty much everyone happily sat there and played with Walter's presents, each parcel containing something as wondrous as the last!
