739: Unwanted Presents

A friend got us "kitty caviar", which is actually shaved bonito flakes, a staple of Japanese cooking.  The cats enjoy the treat, though I admit every time I give them a handful I keep thinking that I should be making myself seasoned rice for lunch and using it up myself. It's not often I feed them something that looks good enough to grace my own plate! Although I do admit, back when I lived in the studio, I sprung for the expensive canned cat food with the fancy names like Tuscan Chicken with Green Beans, because while it still didn't look too hot, it smelled like real food and an extra buck was worth it for the house not to stink of canned animal byproduct.
