I finally got a sail in this summer. I’d wanted to go with my uncle, but he had a very busy summer at work and no time for leisure. It took me quite some time to find somewhere that would rent me a little boat and in the end I actually paid for a private “lesson” at the local yacht club. It worked though. My “teacher” was great company and had intimate knowledge of the capricious nature of the harbor. The craft was pretty decent for a Clorox bottle and despite my concerns the wind did pick up good and strong. I loved those days when I got to go sailing most afternoons, but right now with all my obligations, one good sail is still deeply satisfying.
