629: Unstoppable

I don't understand why they put chemicals in everything. I recently just wanted to get hot dog buns and everything at 3 grocery stores had mono & diglycerides, high fructose corn syrup and other crap. Only Trader Joe's had bread free of chemicals. Is it really that hard to just make a decent roll? Whipping cream suffers the same fate as well as buttermilk, though I assume those are in the quest to make them seem thicker. I can't figure out what the deal is with the bread.
