The disparity between jobs is amazing. My friend's husband really does have a job that essentially gave him a year of vacation, just to keep him from burning out. Logistics isn't really a field that values its employees like that, so I can't claim to have ever had anything better than two weeks vacation accrued after the first year and a job that paid 100% of health care coverage. Not that the latter is anything to sneeze at. My husbands new job treats him wicked well. The market in Boston for good programmers is fierce, which is definitely to our benefit. To give you an idea of what kind of office it is, the owner actually encouraged one of his employees to bring his dog to work and when security said no, suggested he sneak the pooch in via the freight elevator!
