I realize I'm in the minority preferring black and white over color. I'm pretty sure it's a processing thing. I love have black, white and gray comics emphasis the bones of the composition, that everything is there in stark and easy to process tones. Color comics take me forever to parse, greatly detracting from my ability to immerse myself in the story. It's why I like dawn and dusk, the low light bleeds all the color out of the world and for a scant half hour everything is reduced to its shapes, easily and immediately taken in. I find the red light we keep in the bedroom at night works the same way for me. My husband on the other hand finds he can only do the most of tasks in the red light, because for him, the light strips the room of all the details he needs to function at full capacity.
