So, as a rule, I really don't like BL (boy's love) comics. I find them creepy in that they are generally written by straight women. Why do straight women want to read often extremely explicit gay stories. It just seems voyeuristic and objectifying. However, as with any rules, there are exceptions. I just finished reading The Less than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal, which was masterfully told. By the end of the book I felt extremely emotionally involved in the characters and the plot. As the title implies this was not a swashbuckling big stakes story, but one where you really cared about the characters and the consequences of their actions. If you're looking for a sweet, unusual romance, I highly recommend giving it a try.
