693: The Breaking Point

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I like a neat house. I consider it a real priority to keep on top of the mess my darling little chaos engine makes. I do this to the extent I've had mommy friends who felt intimidated by the cleanliness of my abode and didn't want to show me theirs. Anyway, my son has taken to putting things in boxes, sorting his toys and also tossing them over the baby gate. It's adorable. I also found it puzzling. What's the obsession with boxing stuff up and tossing it over gates? Then I realized...he sees me do it all the time. I'm always puttering around his room, putting blocks back in their tray, putting shapes back in his puzzles, etc. He doesn't see the rhyme or reason to how I tidy up, so he imitates me by shoving things anywhere he can fit them. I even through things I deem not worth keeping in his room over his baby gate, so I'm pretty sure that's where he gets that habit too. As the saying goes, monkey sees, monkey does. Now if I can just get him to stop sorting the contents of my grocery carts...
