Food in daily life is such a strange thing. It's hard to believe less than 100 years ago the main concern was just people getting enough calories. Candy bars were invented as meal replacements, school lunch programs were specifically designed to make sure kids got one calorie rich meal a day. Now we have the opposite problem where people get too much food and not enough nutrition. There's been a whole string of government programs designed to try to educate people about what's good to eat and what are healthy portions. It's pretty ironic. I wonder if society will ever get the balancing equation right.
