Last week I was in Puerto Rico visiting my parents. I managed to get a spectacularly hard to heal wound on my heel, by standing too close to the gate, which swung closed on my foot. I'll spare you the gory details, but after days of it not healing despite band-aids and Neosporin, my husband suggested trying something he'd read about a long time ago: honey. I am rather shocked at how well it's worked. The honey was mainly absorbed by the healthy skin and coated the wounded area, which seems to finally be shrinking. Next time I scrape my knee or similarly abuse my epidermis, it is going to be honey all the way!
