189: Questioning the Gods

I was in Elmira, NY this weekend past. I went to see Mark Twain's family plot with my historian friend. I hadn't realized that his direct family line was so short. Of his four children, only one ever married and she only had one child, who never procreated herself. The daughter who married, actually had married twice and the family had such an extreme dislike of the second husband that despite them being required to bury him in the family plot, they never put up a head stone for him. His spot is just a gap between all the other monuments. Talk about holding a grudge!
